Molly Ringwald:

Back in '79, Molly Ringwald was a nobody. She didn't even make it to the second season of "The Facts Of Life". No one had any idea how large a star she'd become in the 80's. When Sixteen Candles came out in '84, people were saying: "Wasn't she that Facts Of Life kid?". I don't know what she's doing now, but in the mid-80's she had quite the career. Sixteen Candles is one of my all-time favorites.

She's still working in show business. She's on some show called The Secret Life of American Teenagers.

I always liked Molly. She was in some good movies.

... well, two movies (16 candles and breakfast club). I never saw pretty in pink, but they played "if you leave" by O.M.D. (from that movie) at my senior prom.

She also just gave birth to twins in real life.

Well, I'll always be a Tootie man myself, but I was always confused by why they dumped all those other girls before the second season. In retrospect, I guess they'd just "retooled" the show. I always wondered whatever happened to those other girls, though. Did any of the others become famous?

I hear about her from time to time. A few years ago, she was in People magazine for a "Where Are They Now?" segment.

Wings: I guess her movie career's over. I wonder how she handled the death of John Hughes last week.

Chloe: That's the one i didn't see. I heard it was good, though. I loved 'if you leave'.

Boukman: Not that I know of. They all just seemed to slip into obscurity. Molly seemed to be the only one that had any career after the show.

Miss Lynda: I remember a people mag back in '85 that she was on the cover. They billed her as "the new teen queen"..

They had to reduce the class to two
and then add a new character (Jo), the others made numerous appearances, except Molly, she only made one in the first episode of the second season then she was gone. When FOL went to DVD I saw the episodes of the first season, and I remembered how great Molly was. In one episode her parents were divorcing and she attempted to reunite them by acting sick.

I'm guessing the "sick routine" didn't work...

I mean, it can get you out of school for the day, but that's about it..

Aw, I wish I heard "If You Leave" at my prom. I always feel like I was born in the wrong decade...

Sorry Glows!

I remember first seeing Molly in a dreadful scifi movie called "Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone (1983)"

It was. like I said, a really bad film, but Molly came off so well in it that is was one of those few times you recognized talent in a bad film. She was better than the material given her.
