Mine wouldn't buy them either!! And especially not with a dispenser. But sometimes Mom got them to make homemade popsicles.
The only time we got them was for picnics, and then mom would collect them to wash and use again!
Parents can be so unreasonable..
I remember the jokes ones and I was always pissed that anyone would use the cups and toss them out before I had read them. So my mother told me that they didn't make them anymore.
When I think of all the fun I could have had...
My family always said they couldn't "afford" them, but an aunt of mine had Dixie Cups all the time in her bathroom. I would use two or more every time I would visit her. One day she got upset that I was using them up and yelled "STOP!" which startled me and I cried. After seeing how she frightened me ( I was three at the time) with her yelling my aunt decided to keep some in her kitchen especially for me. However, around that time I noticed the red translucent plastic cups in her kitchen and wanted to drink out of those. My aunt still kept the Dixie cups on handy, but I liked her red cups because I could see through them after I was through drinking the contents.
I always liked see through things. Like Crazy Straws. You've just given me an idea for my next post. Thanks ;^)
I'm another one who begged for Dixie cups - esp. the ones with jokes - and my mom would never buy them. LOVE looking at them now, too. :D
I use this in my bathroom. I hate having one cup in the bathroom getting all gross, rather have the throw away kind.
Sunny: I've no idea why so many parents were so adamantly against these things.. it's not natural...Teri: I usually just drink straight from the faucet. I'm a non-conformist. A rebel. That's how I roll...
We must have the same parents!<><
I'm wondering why our folks were all so damn cheap..
We ALWAYS had dixie cups in the bathroom for when we brushed our teeth when I was growing up. I dont have them in mine now.... WHen mom comes to visit she complains!
