Using my blog to try and make the world a better place. If I can help someone forget their troubles for a few minutes a day, it's all worth it.

Misc. Remembrance:

When I was 5 years old my cousin Mary gave me a box of her old 45 records that she didn't want anymore. My hands-down fave was the above: "I Think I Love You" by The Partridge Family. The song was 3 years old at the time, but I'd never heard it before and I was hooked on it. I played that thing over and over. I remember the "bell" logo and the red sleeve. And sometimes I'd move the record needle to where the harpsicord instrumental would play. Come to think of it, that song was such a monster smash hit back in the day, and yet the oldies stations never seem to play it anymore. If they did, I think I'd listen to it. It always brings back good memories.

Random fact:

Dex1138 was more of a Nancy Drew fan than the Hardy Boys. I only remember Pamela Sue Martin from The Poseidon Adventure, I don't really remember any of the Nancy Drew episodes.

Question:

So how many of you out there watched The Hardy Boys back in '76?? Or was it '77??? I don't think it lasted for more than one season. I think I saw one episode, because it really wasn't one of my faves. My cousin Michelle had Shaun's poster on her wall, and she had his record "Da Do Ron Ron", but if you asked her about it now she'd probably deny it. Well, at least I know the truth...

How nice to know that it the distant future we'll all still have '70s hair:

Between you and me, I'm not exactly sure what's going on in the above pic, but whatever it is, it doesn't look good ..

The truth about men:

When we look in the mirror, the above pic pretty well sums it up..

And usually Davey gets along with everybody:

I don't know what that blonde kid did to get on Davey's bad side, but whatever it was I'm sure he deserved it.

So did you watch it?

I'm not sure as to the date of the above, but I'm guessing circa '76. I have a feeling I didn't see it. It all looks pretty annoying.

Between you and me, if I walked around town wearing overalls with a unicorn on it, I'd get my ass kicked:

"Come on home, girl," he said with a smile. "You don't have to love me and let's get high a while". Try to understand, try to understand. Try, try, try to understand he's a magic man.

Of my all-time favorite groups back in the day, these two ladies were among the top 10:

Heading out this morning into the sun. Riding on the diamond waves, little darlin' one. Warm wind caress her, her lover it seems. Oh Annie, Dreamboat Annie, my little ship of dreams. Going down the city sidewalk alone in the crowd, no one knows the lonely one whose head is in the clouds. Sad faces painted over with those magazine smies. Heading out to somewhere, won't be back for awhile.

Misc. Remembrance:

Throughout the decade, my grandparents used to rent a site at the Bourne Scenic Campground for an entire summer in their Coachman trailer. Usually they'd get a site overlooking the canal. I'd stay with them for a week. I always looked forward to it. One night, circa 1975, a cruise liner passed through the canal, right in front of their site. The ship honked its horn, music was blaring, and the passengers were hollering out greetings to the campers and vice verse. It caused quite a commotion. And I slept through the whole damn thing...

Misc. Remembrance:

Back in '76 during a vacation, one afternoon our family played miniature golf. I thought I won because I had the highest score, and that's when mom told me that I actually lost. I was impossible to be around for the rest of the night.
